Candice provides Reiki to individuals by appointment only. Reiki is a form of energy healing that is an ancient practice. It is used to decrease stress levels, improve quality of life and relaxation, supporting physical and emotional healing. Research indicates that Reiki as a complementary practice may activate the parasympathetic nervous system to support healing of the mind and body by using a relaxation response. A Reiki session involves your provider using hand positions held either on or near your clothed body to provide Reiki.

A sound bath is a meditative experience where you are immersed in sound vibrations. According to Karen Bond, PA-C with Cleveland Clinic, “The idea is that these vibrations are at specific tones and frequencies and have the ability to heal your body,”.
Sound has been used for hundreds of years in different cultures as a way to find balance and healing. Traditional Chinese Medicine holds that energy flows through the body and when this energy is off balance, things go wrong with our bodies. When we reset the flow of energy or power through our bodies, then we can support healing in our bodies.
At a sound bath, you will be lying down (or sitting), listening to the sounds around you. You will have the opportunity to truly relax, noticing your body and the experience of the vibrations in the room. You may experience feelings, some may be heightened, and others may be relaxed. Each person responds to the sounds and vibrations differently. You will be directed towards some mindful practices before and after the bowls, to focus on the impact of the experience on your body, and to help you relax.
Health benefits of music have been studied for a long time. Music is a "safe" and "inexpensive" supplemental therapy that helps with pain control according to a 2014 systematic review of research studies. There is not a significant amount of research into the benefits of sound baths although eastern cultures have been doing them for many years. There was a review of four peer-reviewed studies showing health benefits after playing or listening to signing bowls (including one study involving people living with metastatic breast cancer and another with chronic spinal pain). Further research is needed in this area.
After a sound bath, you may experience:
A sound bath is NOT a replacement for medical treatments. It can be considered as a complementary treatment to support your medical and mental health care similar to meditation, yoga, tai chi, chi gong and reiki.
If you've never been to a sound bath before, there are some things that you can do to make your experience more relaxing for everyone.
Every sound bath is different. A sound practitioner does go through training to be able to provide the service, similar to that of a yoga instructor.
A sound bath may include:
You can experience a sound bath digitally, however when done in person, your whole body has the chance to experience the vibrations.
Each person responds differently to a sound experience. Some people may feel tired; some may feel energized. It really depends on the person and their individual experience of the event.
To minimize any feelings of fatigue, it is suggested that you drink plenty of water, eat healthy foods and get a good night's sleep if you can.
If you are receiving support for a mental health condition, please check with your provider prior to attending the sound bath as it can be an emotional experience for some.
When allowing yourself to connect with your body more fully, you may experience difficult feelings, and this may be an uncomfortable experience.
